Boxes in the Attic

A New New Awaits! Every holiday season, we clean our attic. We call it the black hole because we could seriously be up there and never make it out! I always tell Skipper if he doesn’t hear from me in 3 hours, begin the search. How does all that “stuff” get there!!! I think it grows while we are sleeping. In the far “never reached” corner I came across an old dusty box with my name on it. Some of my art work from elementary school! I can still see my elementary art teacher Mrs. Hutchinson helping me with this one. The chicken! “Oh Lisa, this is a lovely chicken!” she said to me. God love her! I think that was my attempt at embroidery? Or was it? I am not too sure. Well I laughed because sitting right next to that box was another box labeled “Lisa’s chicken suit”. I guess there is a life theme here right? An outside of the box theme that made me laugh.

God really does have a sense of humor. It was a fun reminder that God knew way back in elementary school the twists and turns my life would take, (and boy there have been many!) and even a chicken was involved. Great reminder for a new year! God never wastes a season. He knows what is ahead, and right around the corner. He’s in your next season waiting for you there and will give you the grace and strength and all that is needed to walk through that season….no matter what. And sometimes those seasons are filled with surprises….and much laughter! And maybe even a chicken suit or two!

May you all have a new season filled with fun surprises, blessings, and much laughter, and who knows….maybe even a chicken suit in involved ? ? ? ! Happy 2021!
