Meet our Founder
Lisa Bain
Lisa Bain is the founder of Lisa Bain Ministries, a nonprofit devoted to bringing comfort, care, and hope to individuals and families facing life’s hardest seasons. Through Resilience Care Packages and therapeutic animal visits, the ministry provides tangible support, meaningful connection, and reminders that no one is walking alone.
A published author of five books, Lisa brings both professional expertise and deeply personal experience to her work. She holds a degree in social work and has spent more than 25 years serving in the nonprofit sector, with a passion for meeting people with dignity, compassion, and practical care.
Lisa Bain Ministries has been recognized as a Top Nonprofit by Great Nonprofits from 2022–2026, and Lisa was selected as a featured leader in the She Is Tulsa campaign. She is also the recipient of the Compassionate Tulsan Award from the Tulsa Human Rights Commission and Compassionate Tulsa Committee, the Lift Her Up Award from Flourish Homes, the Ladies Leading Legacy Award from the WHOW Organization, and the Make More Happen Award from Rich & Cartmill.
Lisa’s calling was shaped during a pivotal season in her life, when her mother was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer while Lisa herself received a diagnosis of a debilitating autoimmune disease. Walking through both journeys simultaneously revealed the power of finding joy and purpose even in broken places—an insight that ultimately led to the founding of her ministry.
As a certified member of the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Lisa serves alongside her therapy dogs—Mabel, Maddie, and Moose—bringing comfort to cancer treatment centers, hospitals, senior living communities, and hospice care facilities. Their presence adds a unique and deeply healing layer of connection to the ministry’s work.
Lisa shares her heart and insights through the Bain There Done That blog and Treasure Talks, where she highlights community heroes and stories of resilience, hope, and transformation. She is a sought-after speaker throughout the community, known for delivering messages that inspire healing, courage, and renewed purpose.
Lisa lives in Tulsa with her husband, Skipper. Together, they treasure their family of four children and four grandsons.
