Confession time: I’m a BIG fan of comfort. 🐾 Give me my favorite Bernese Mountain Dog house shoes, a chipped coffee mug filled to the brim, and a routine I can count on—and I’m one happy camper. Comfort is cozy. Comfort is safe. Comfort is… well, comfortable.
But here’s the problem: sometimes comfort can sneak up and turn into a cage. (And no amount of fuzzy socks can fix that!)
That’s usually when God starts nudging.
Sometimes with a whisper.
Sometimes with a shove that feels more like “ready or not, here we go!”
And honestly? At first, it feels like loss. Like He’s taking away the little things that make life predictable. But here’s what I’ve learned:
✨ The caterpillar doesn’t get wings without leaving the cocoon.
✨ Seeds don’t bloom unless they break apart.
✨ And we don’t step into God’s “what’s next” if we keep clinging white-knuckled to “what is.”
I’ve been guilty of turning my waiting rooms into permanent addresses. (Raise your hand if you’ve ever decorated your waiting room with throw pillows and called it “home.” 🙋♀️) But when I finally let go—even scared and shaky—I found freedom, joy, and purpose I didn’t know I
was missing.
Maybe you’re there now—holding on to what feels safe but no longer gives life. Let me remind you: outgrowing something doesn’t mean failure. It means growth.
And the good stuff? The miracles? They don’t show up in the comfort zone. They show up when you step out.
So here’s to fuzzy house shoes, coffee mugs… and courage. Because God isn’t taking something away. He’s making space for something greater. 💫
