Every care box we send out has a little pom-pom tucked right on top.
To most people, it’s just a pom-pom.
But around here, it means something.
Many of the items in our care boxes have a story behind them. They were chosen because of a family we’ve walked beside, a lesson we’ve learned, or a reminder we never want someone to forget.
The pom-pom is there because cancer is hard. Treatments are hard. Waiting for scan results is hard. Some days it takes everything you have just to keep showing up.
But victories matter.
I recently got the news that one of the precious angels we’re following received a clear PET scan, and immediately the pom-poms came out!
My mom taught me that. During her cancer journey, we kept party hats nearby. We wore them to chemotherapy. We wore them on good days
and hard days. We chose to celebrate every single day we had together because every day was a gift.
And when the good news came, we celebrated loudly.
So when someone opens a Lisa Bain Ministries care box and sees that little pom-pom, I hope it reminds them that we’re already cheering for them.
We’re cheering for the next good report.
We’re cheering for the next milestone.
We’re cheering for the strength to make it through today.
We’re cheering for the victory that may be just around the corner.
Because hope deserves a cheerleader.
