The other day, I was on a playdate with my grandson at a video arcade. Games were buzzing, lights were flashing, and kids were laughing all around us. In the middle of all that noise, he suddenly looked up at me and said:
“Hey Grandma, did you know Jesus loves you?”
I smiled and said, “I sure do, Sam.”
Without missing a beat, he replied, “I think that’s cool. I’m so glad He does.” And just like that, he ran back to his game.
It was a small exchange, just a handful of words, but it hit me like a truth I needed to be reminded of.
Sometimes we complicate things. We want deep theology, big explanations, and fancy words. But the most important truth is also the simplest: Jesus loves you.
That’s it. That’s the foundation. And as Sam said, that’s cool.
Maybe that’s the message your heart needs today. Jesus loves you—in the middle of the busy arcade of life, in the chaos, in the quiet, in the waiting, in the celebrating, in the grieving. He loves you right where you are.
The moral is this: Don’t overlook the simple truths. Sometimes they’re the most powerful. Through the voice of a child, God reminded me of the most important thing of all:
Jesus loves me. Jesus loves you. And that’s really, really cool.
