November note from the heart

Nov 1, 2025 | Blog

It finally happened, the air cooled off, the humidity took a hike, and I could walk the dogs without feeling like I needed a medal for surviving. The leaves are crunching under our feet, my hair isn’t plastered to my face, and my coffee suddenly tastes ten times better.

Friends, we made it. Hoodie weather has arrived.

Not too long ago, I was walking those same trails with the dogs, sweating like I was in a slow cooker, praying for any sign of cooler weather. And then one single leaf fell right in front of me, just one. I stared at it like it was a divine sign from heaven. I almost shouted, “It’s coming!” right there in the park. (I didn’t, but I came close.)

Now here we are, and I’m soaking it all in, the colors, the cool breeze, and the way the world seems to exhale this time of year. Autumn has this way of reminding me that God is always working, even when I can’t see it. He’s the ultimate artist, painting, pruning, and preparing us for what’s next.

The funny thing about fall is that everything looks like it’s dying, but really, it’s just getting ready for something new. The trees don’t panic about losing their leaves, they just let go. Maybe that’s what we need to do, too. Let go of the stuff that’s weighing us down, the worries, the “what ifs,” the old habits, and trust that God’s got the next season covered.

So yes, I’ll be over here sipping my coffee, wearing my favorite hoodie, and pretending my dogs don’t track half the leaves back into the house. I’ll also be thanking God for the reminder that letting go can actually be beautiful, and sometimes even a little bit fun.

Here’s to cozy mornings, crunchy walks, and a faithful God who turns every season, even the messy ones, into something worth celebrating. 🍁

Happy November 1!
