The word hit my heart like a holy curveball:
Pivot.
Wait, what? Pivot? Like… basketball? Like Ross yelling “PIVOT!” while moving a couch up the stairs in Friends?
Not exactly the sacred word I expected from the Lord, but there it was. Clear. Bold. Planted deep in my spirit. And while I couldn’t put it into words at first, I just knew—God was up to something.
Now, I’ll be honest. I like a good plan. Give me a to-do list, a calendar, a timeline—yes, please.
But a pivot? That sounds like turning around, shifting gears, letting go of the straight path I had mapped out so neatly. It sounds… uncomfortable.
But here’s what I’m learning: Pivoting doesn’t mean failure. It means flexibility. It’s not Plan B. It’s God’s better plan in motion.
You see, pivoting is that sacred moment when God taps you on the shoulder and says: “Hey, I know you’re headed that way… but I’ve got something better just around the corner.
Trust Me.”
And sometimes, He doesn’t give you a new map. He just gives you a little spin.
A redirection.
A holy sidestep into something you didn’t see coming—but He did.
So now when I hear pivot, I don’t panic. I smile. Because I know God’s not just changing my direction—He’s changing my perspective.
And somewhere in the spin, in the shuffle, in the holy twirl I didn’t expect…He’s writing something beautiful.
So if you’re in a pivot season, take heart. You’re not lost. You’re being led.
And who knows? Maybe the best chapters begin… with a turn.
