I used to think timing was everything. That if I missed a moment, an opportunity, or a connection, it might be gone forever.
But over and over again, I’ve watched God unfold stories in my life where people showed up—not early, not late, but right on time. Not always the people I expected. Not always in the way I imagined. But always for a purpose.
Recently, it had been a week filled with hospice visits and the heartbreaking loss of several dear friends we loved deeply. On this particular day, I had just said another hard goodbye. I walked out holding back tears, carrying a heaviness that words couldn’t quite touch. My heart was tired. Worn. In need of a lift.
As I drove home, I prayed quietly, trusting that somehow God would meet me in the ache.
When I pulled into the driveway, there it was—a large bag sitting on my porch with the letter “B” embroidered on the front. It was beautiful… and overflowing. As I opened it, I was stunned to find it filled with all of my favorite things. Somehow, she knew. But what touched me most was the handwritten card tucked inside—full of words that reached straight to the core of my soul.
My sweet friend had shown up in the most unexpected way. A kind gesture. A divine appointment. And a reminder that God sees, hears, and sends the right people… right when we need them most.
I’ve watched this happen in big moments and small ones. The friend who randomly invites you for coffee when your heart is heavy. The stranger who speaks life into you without even knowing your story. The mentor who appears when you’re stepping into something new and scary. The encourager who whispers truth when doubt is loud.
Sometimes, we are that person for someone else. Sometimes, we’re on the receiving end. But always, God is weaving it together—purposefully and beautifully.
So if you’re waiting… wondering… hoping for the right connection, don’t lose heart. God’s timing is never off. And He’s not just sending anyone—He’s sending the right ones.
Keep showing up. Keep trusting. He’s working behind the scenes in ways you can’t see yet.
“Let God write your story. He knows who belongs in every chapter.”
