There’s something about Easter weekend that makes everything pause—even if just for a moment. It’s more than a holiday. It’s a holy shift.
As I reflect on Good Friday and the weight of what Jesus endured, I’m stilled by the depth of that love. A love that bled. A love that hung between two thieves. A love that took on our shame, our sin, and our sorrow… and didn’t walk away. He was nailed to a cross like a criminal, and yet in that cruel act, the greatest rescue story was unfolding. For me. For you. For every name we know and every soul we’ll never meet.
And now—here we are, in the waiting.
This Easter, something feels different. God is shifting things in my heart. I find myself loosening my grip on the things I’ve held so tightly—fears, expectations, even plans—and placing them in His hands. I’m learning that resurrection doesn’t just happen on Easter morning. It happens in our hearts, in our homes, in the quiet places where we finally surrender.
Sometimes the greatest act of faith is not in the asking, but in the thanking. Not in the noise, but in the stillness. I’m trying to rest in that this weekend. To whisper, “Thank You, Jesus,” with a heart wide open.
Because even now… God is up to something. He always is.
So I’ll rest in the reflection of Good Friday—the sorrow, the sacrifice, the love—and wait through the quiet of Saturday with hope in my heart. Because I know this…
Sunday is coming.
