I used to think God showed up most clearly in the big moments. The answered prayers. The breakthroughs. The days that came with a clear headline and a story to tell. I watched for Him in the extraordinary and assumed that was where the sacred lived.
But life has taught me something different.
God often meets us in the ordinary. In the quiet mornings. In the routines we repeat without much thought. In the days that feel simple, slow, or even a little heavy. The days that do not stand out. The ones we might be tempted to rush through or wish away.
Those are often the days He is doing His deepest work.
Ordinary days can feel like waiting. Like nothing is happening. Like we are standing still while the rest of the world moves forward. But God is not idle in those spaces. He is gentle and intentional. He is shaping our hearts, strengthening our faith, and healing places we may not even realize still ache.
God is not in a hurry. He does not need fireworks or big moments to do meaningful work. While we are looking for visible change, He is working quietly beneath the surface. Teaching us how to trust. How to love well. How to show up with grace even when life feels unremarkable.
Some of the most beautiful growth happens when no one is watching. When we choose kindness on a hard day. When we keep loving even
when we are tired. When we whisper prayers that feel small but honest. Those moments matter more than we know.
I have learned that the ordinary holds so many gifts if we are willing to notice them. A conversation that brings comfort. A laugh that surprises us. A moment of peace that settles our hearts. These are not small things. They are the very things that carry us.
If today feels quiet or plain or heavy, please hear this. You are not missing God. He is right there with you. Fully present. Fully working. Nothing about this day is wasted.
God does some of His deepest work in the days that look the most ordinary.
And often, those are the days that slowly, gently, heal the heart.
