There are seasons when God feels quiet.
You pray. You cry. You ask. You wait.
And nothing seems to move.
No clear answers.
No open doors.
No sudden clarity.
Just stillness.
If we are honest, stillness can feel like neglect. It can make you wonder if God stepped away. If maybe you did something wrong. If maybe you are being overlooked.
I have learned something different this past year.
Silence is not punishment.
Silence is not absence.
Silence is not indifference.
Sometimes silence is invitation.
An invitation to trust without proof.
An invitation to rest without answers.
An invitation to grow roots instead of chasing outcomes.
We love the stories where Jesus speaks and the miracle happens instantly. But what about the moments when He did not rush?
I have thought a lot about Lazarus lately. Jesus did not hurry when He heard Lazarus was sick. Mary and Martha felt that delay deeply. To them it
probably felt crushing.
But Jesus was not late. He was intentional.
Some miracles require momentum. Others require four days in the grave.
Sometimes things have to look impossible before God reveals His glory.
And sometimes the greater miracle is not what He does for us. It is what He builds inside of us while we wait.
I have sat in hospital rooms again this year. I have watched monitors beep and held hands that were trembling. I have prayed prayers that felt like they barely left my lips.
What I have learned is this.
God does not always remove the valley. But He absolutely meets us in it.
His presence in silence feels different. Softer. Deeper. Less dramatic. It is the kind of presence you recognize later when you realize you did not fall apart. You were carried.
Silence strengthens your spiritual muscles in private so you can stand steady in public.
It teaches you to choose joy when no one is applauding.
To trust when there is no evidence yet.
To keep showing up when nothing seems to be changing.
Here is what has anchored me.
Sometimes God goes quiet because He is growing something in you that cannot survive noise.
Character.
Endurance.
Perspective.
Compassion.
We want the bloom.
God is working on the roots.
Roots take time.
If you are in a quiet season right now, hear me gently.
You are not abandoned. You are being anchored.
You are not forgotten. You are being formed.
You are not overlooked. You are being strengthened in places no one else can see.
Small things are really big things.
A quiet prayer.
A steady heart.
A whisper of I trust You when you do not understand.
That is holy ground.
The silence may not break today. The answer may not look the way you imagined. But what is forming in you will matter.
When you look back, and you will, you will see that the quiet was not empty.
It was sacred.
Do not give up.
Hold on.
Things are happening in the silence.
