I have a little confession: I love comfort. Fuzzy socks, my favorite coffee mug, a cozy routine I can count on. There’s something about the familiar that just feels safe. But here’s what I’ve learned—sometimes, the very things that make us feel safe can quietly become a cage.
And that’s when God starts nudging.
Sometimes gently… sometimes not so gently… He invites us out of the familiar and into something more. And if you’re anything like me, those moments often feel more like loss than opportunity. But here’s the truth that keeps rising up in my heart:
Sometimes, you have to let go of what’s comfortable to discover what’s possible.
A caterpillar doesn’t fly until it leaves the cocoon.
A seed doesn’t bloom until it breaks open beneath the ground.
And we don’t step into what’s next until we release what is now—even when “now” seems to be working just fine.
I remember a time when life wasn’t fine at all, but I still clung to familiar people, places, and routines. They felt safe—but they were no longer life-
giving. The unknown scared me. But God had something so much more beautiful waiting. What I thought was a destination was really just a waiting room—and I had made it my permanent address. When I finally let go—white knuckles and all—I found freedom, joy, and purpose I didn’t even know I needed.
Looking back, I realize I would’ve missed so much if I had stayed tucked inside that small, comfortable box. But God didn’t want that for me. He called me out of what felt safe and into something bigger than myself. And when I said yes—when I surrendered the familiar to step into the unknown—He began to show me what only He could do.
Maybe you’re there right now. In a role that doesn’t fit anymore. Stuck in a routine with no clear destination. Maybe you’ve been wearing a mask for so long that you’re not sure who’s underneath it anymore.
Let me gently remind you: You’re allowed to outgrow what once felt like a good fit.
You’re not giving up. You’re growing.
And what’s possible? It’s waiting. But it rarely shows up in the comfort zone.
When you step out, that’s when the good stuff starts. That’s when God shows you what He had in mind all along.
That’s when miracles meet movement.
And when you finally let go? You’ll realize God wasn’t taking something from you… He was making room for something greater.
