Storms have a way of showing up without warning.
The skies darken.
The winds shift.
And suddenly, the path that once felt clear becomes uncertain, even frightening.
Life can feel that way sometimes, can’t it?
You’re walking along, doing the best you can, when out of nowhere—grief, loss, diagnosis, betrayal, fear—something hits, and you find yourself standing in a storm you never saw coming.
But here’s what I’ve come to learn:
Not all storms come to destroy.
Some come to reveal.
Some come to refine.
And some come to remind us that we were never meant to weather them alone.
I’ve found that some of the deepest peace I’ve ever known hasn’t come after the storm passed… but right in the middle of it.
In the quiet between the thunder.
In the stillness before the next wave.
That’s where God whispers, “I’m with you.”
Storms slow us down.
They strip away the distractions.
They pull us close to the heart of what truly matters.
And maybe that’s the holiest thing of all—to be still in the middle of the chaos.
To stop trying to fix, to figure it all out, or to force our way forward.
And instead… to hold close what matters most.
To trust the One who calms the wind and speaks peace over the waves.
So if you’re in a storm right now—
Don’t panic.
Pause.
Breathe.
And hold tight to the One who holds you.
He hasn’t forgotten you.
He’s not far off.
Even in the darkest sky… the light is still coming.
And when the rain clears, you may just find the path ahead looks different—
Not destroyed,
but renewed.
Not lost,
but realigned.
Because sometimes, it’s in the storm that we find out where we truly belong…
Safe in the arms of the One who never lets go.
