With therapy dogs, fun friends wearing costumes in tow, and fun surprises for each senior hero, we set out on a mission to bring some joy to our senior heroes who have been behind closed doors for a year now, with no visitors. It has broken my heart to hear the stories of families who could not visit and what our seniors have been through. We lost many of them.
But if there is a will there is a way! We may go window to window, but by golly they will smile and laugh again! That laughter brought happy tears to us all today! One precious lady wiped tears that were flowing down her face, and said “this is the happiest I have been since I can remember. It’s been such a hard year. You have made us feel like we are not forgotten, we are loved. You will never know what this has meant to us.”
She will never know what this meant to us! There were many tears, much laughter and much dancing. Elvis was in the house! Does it even get better than that? And it will be done again next week and we can’t wait! Our seniors matter.
