Ministry Outreach Projects

You Can Help Us Bring Hope!

Lisa Bain Ministries needs your help!  Our ever-growing list of projects focus on the connections that are so needed. We want to bring joy to faces and hope to hearts. The world is more unpredictable than ever, and loving connections have never been so important.

We want to send a loud and clear message that says, “You are loved!” But we can’t do this alone. We need hearts and hands. We need financial sponsors. We need YOU! Read about the projects, and contact lisa@lisabain.com if you are interested in sponsoring.

Cancer Warrior Resilience Care Boxes

Navigating the challenges of cancer often leads to feelings of isolation, hopelessness, and anxiety. Recognizing the profound impact of timely encouragement, we present our Cancer Warrior Resilience Boxes and Bags. These thoughtfully curated packages are brimming with practical support and heartfelt comfort for individuals on their cancer journey.

Inside, recipients will find an array of items aimed at providing assistance and hope: handmade prayer quilts, money/gas cards, snack/spa bags, cuddly Mabel Joy pups, a handmade necklace, a gratitude journal, all of Lisa Bain's books, a heating/cooling pack, robe, socks, a tote bag, a t-shirt, and personalized items requested by the recipient. And, of course, each package includes a festive party hat to commemorate and celebrate every precious moment of life! These carefully selected items are intended to ease the challenges of treatment and bring a joyful smile to the face of every patient.

Hope Bags for the Homeless

In Tulsa and the surrounding areas, more than 2,500 individuals are currently facing homelessness. Last year, we successfully provided 922 backpacks to those experiencing homelessness in our community. Now, our ambition is to increase our impact by distributing 1,500 backpacks in 2024.

Each backpack is thoughtfully assembled with essential items, including hygiene products, a cozy quilt, snacks, a water bottle, socks, a hat, gloves, a raincoat, and a comforting stuffed Mabel pup for the children. While addressing homelessness is undoubtedly complex, we believe that demonstrating love and care is a simple yet powerful step in the right direction. By extending compassion, we strive to let our homeless community members know that they are not alone, and we are here to support them.

Veteran and Gold Star Care Bags

Many veterans feel forgotten, and some never receive a visit of encouragement or words of support. We want to change that, so last year we delivered 1023 Resilience Care Bags to veterans and Gold Star families. We bless these veterans with items they request, pack them with love, and speak words of gratefulness to them on each visit. Our Gold Star families have experienced heartbreaking loss, so our purpose in each visit is to comfort and honor their loved ones. Each bag contains a handmade patriot quilt, red, white, and blue candle, journal, tumbler, books, spa items, money card, stuffed Mabel pup, and special requests from the family. Read more...

Stuffed Mabel Joy Pups

Mabel Joy pups are the calling card of Lisa Bain Ministries and are included in every Resilience Care Box we deliver. They are snuggly, soft, and sent out with a big prayer and a blessing. This year, our goal is to partner with a sponsor who will provide the funds for these stuffed pups. We want our partner to have high visibility on our social media platform and recognition for their generous sponsorship. This little pup is a reminder that you are never alone when you walk through a broken place, and a symbol of our commitment to be there for those in need.

Resilience Care Boxes

In 2023, we had the privilege of providing 7,598 Resilience Boxes and Bags! The lives of the recipients were profoundly impacted by the thoughtful items and caring messages enclosed in each box.

The diverse needs we address cover a wide spectrum, including families coping with the aftermath of suicide, sudden deaths, caring for a special needs child, dealing with terminal illnesses, loss of homes due to fires, foster children entering new homes, instances of domestic abuse, and community-wide crises. The distribution of Resilience Care Boxes is a daily occurrence and stands as the most extensive and sustained initiative undertaken by our ministry.

first responder bags

First Responder Bags for Children

In 2022, we began receiving requests from first responders. They needed bags of practical items to take with them when they responded to children in crisis situations. When they encounter these children, it is almost always a traumatic situation, but the items in our bags bring comfort, as well as a feeling of safety and hope. We provide the children four books, including an activity resilience book, Mabel and Maddie coloring books, puzzles, a stuffed Mabel pup, sensory items such as bubbles and gel balls, activity pads with games, cards, t-shirt, snacks, a small blanket, and socks. These bags benefit both the child, and the first responder. Read more...

Happy Hands Holiday Project

We love the work that Happy Hands is doing. They provide Christian early education for children who are deaf, hearing impaired, or have other communication challenges. We’ve seen the difference they make in our community, so we are excited to plan the 2024 holiday party for these students and their families. Reading is an important part of their education, so we’ll bring each child a book, along with a stuffed Mabel pup, and, of course, Christmas surprises!  Read more...

The Little Lighthouse

This organization brings so much light to our community by providing education and therapeutic services for children with special needs. The Little Lighthouse also ministers to their students’ families by giving support, encouragement, and resources. Our holiday party is a gift for the students, staff, and families, and is a highlight of our year. We are already planning the 2024 event.  We’ll bring along our therapy dog Mabel, and the delightful Mascot Mabel. Exciting superheroes from Real Okie Superheroes will be also accompany us, which is a big moment for each child. Read more...
