Spring is on the horizon! Out of the deep freeze and hibernation here we come! It is that time of year where we start to see those bulbs that were planted months ago start to break through the ground and bloom! I wish I had the green thumb my Mom had. She loved to garden and she loved to see those first Spring flowers emerge from the cold hard ground. New life! New beginnings! Beauty all around!
As I was taking an early morning walk I noticed the trees about ready to burst into bloom. I began to think about the winter, and all the wintry places in the past year. It doesn’t have to be winter to be dark. But as I began to pray, and just reflect on what the past season of winter brought in my own life, what came out of those dark places was good. It didn’t happen overnight, but after many months, Spring began to emerge. What
seems to be buried and broken, can miraculously grow and break through. The seeds planted, the prayers prayed, the soul cries of help cried out in those dark season did not go unheard. God heard every cry. In the darkest pit of our lives, God is doing the holiest of work. His timing may not be my timing. But His timing always proves best. He is the unchanging hope that takes the breaking in our lives and leads us to the breakthrough. We cry out, we wait and water, we believe in God’s timing and His good work, and with just one bulb of hope, beauty can blossom. Some of the most beautiful flowers take much time underground to prepare for their big blossom day. It’s worth the wait. I am finally learning that God has the best green thumb of all. I am glad. Hold on tight. Your blossom is about to emerge. It will be worth the wait.
