The snow was untouched, blanketed across the side of our yard in drifts and mounds. I stood at the edge of it holding my cup of coffee and taking in the beauty. My dogs were romping in the other part of the yard, losing their minds in the fluff. They love to bounce around in it, so I let them while I stared at the part of our yard that was pristine with untouched snow. It was a reminder of what grace looks like. It doesn’t pick and choose certain places to fall, but instead, covers everything. Today, the flawless patch of snow reminded me of God’s grace, and boy, my family has needed buckets of grace this week. We have prepared to say our final goodbyes to Dad, and each day of walking through the grief has reminded me how deep God’s grace goes. It covers it all – past, present, and future. It is freeing to know that Jesus redeems all things. His mercies are new every morning, and this day is no exception. I needed a reminder of that beautiful mercy, and the amazing grace that covers us all.
