About Lisa Bain
Lisa Bain is the founder of Lisa Bain Ministries, a nonprofit organization that delivers hope and support to those who are facing illness, a special need, or a crisis situation. Lisa is also the author of four books with her latest book called “Feel the Rain”.
Lisa holds a degree in social work and has over 20+ years in non profit work. Lisa Bain Ministries is currently rated as a Top Non Profit 2022, 2023, 2024 organization by Great Nonprofits, and Lisa was chosen as one of the women to be represented in the campaign “She is Tulsa”. She recently received the Compassionate Tulsan award by the Tulsa Human Rights Commission and Compassionate Tulsa Committee.
She believes in sharing her story with honesty and authenticity. When her mother was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer and Lisa was diagnosed with a debilitating autoimmune disease in the same week, she was determined to find joy in the midst of her difficult circumstances. This event was ultimately what began her passion for her non profit organization.
Lisa is also passionate about animal therapy, and uses her three therapy dogs to help spread love and light to those who are hurting. She travels with her dogs to cancer treatment centers, hospitals, senior living facilities and hospice care centers. She is a member of The Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
Lisa and her husband Skipper live in Tulsa and have four children and three grandsons. Lisa writes regularly on her Bain There Done That Blog and hosts Treasure Talks, a vlog featuring interviews with heroes who are making a difference in the community. She speaks regularly in the community with an encouraging message of finding hope through the broken places in life.
