If there is anything I have learned this past year it is that broken places can truly be beautiful. Just as a seed has to be broken open for growth, sometimes it is the breaking that brings life changing grown in our own lives. Only a broken field yields. Change can only happen when what is, is broken. Brokenness is a beginning. I have learned to embrace those broken places and not fear them. You can’t get to the
next season without change. And change and transition often happen in those broken places. God gets us out of the way so we can truly walk out our purpose. He sees the other side of our mountain and knows how to get us there.
My devotion this morning was on this very thing. ( Thank you Ann Voskamp!) What looks more broken than the cross? But what wins more than the cross? The cross conquers everything, but looks more broken than anything. I am thankful for the cross, and thankful I can walk through brokenness stronger than ever because He was broken for me. He was broken for you. Broken to breakthrough. I have learned that “broken” can simply be a game changer. One that brings answered prayers, breakthroughs, and clarity in a way that causes everything to all make sense. I like that.
