Mabels Corner

Welcome and come on in!

Mabel’s Corner is named after my precious grandmother, Mabel, who modeled unconditional love and walking in authenticity. She also loved animals, so it was a perfect fit to name this page after one of our therapy dogs, Mabel Joy, in honor of her.

We look forward to bringing you beautiful and loving moments in this corner–along with lots of joy! We are passionate about animals and animal therapy, so our hearts and house are full here at the Bain Barn. Our family welcomed Mabel Joy in 2020.  She is a Bernese Mountain Dog with a huge purpose. Her name means “beautiful and loving,” and she lives up to that every day. About 9 months later we welcomed Maddie Grace, named after some very special angels in our lives.  And on July 4th of 2023 we welcomed Moose!  When you meet Moose, you will know why he has that wonderful name.  The three musketeers are all Bernese Mountain Dogs.  All are involved in therapy work.  They are big dogs with a very big cause!

Mavis Pearl and Gracie Anne, were also therapy dogs, and they left big paws to fill.  We are thankful Mabel Joy had the opportunity to know them both. They set wonderful examples and we miss them dearly.

Animals have lessons to teach us as they fill our hearts with “pawsome” fun. You’ll find something to smile about here at Mabel’s Corner. We’re so glad you’re here!

The Adventures of Mabel, Maddie, and Moose!

.Mabel Joy is living up to her name!  Her birthday is 9/11/20 and she and her brothers and sisters were all named after the heroes who gave their lives to save others on 9/11.  Her full name is Lionhearts Answering The Call Mabel Joy.  And she lives up to that name every day.   Mabel is the Lisa Bain Ministry therapy dog ambassador and is following in the footsteps of Holly, Gracie, and Mavis. She has big paws to fill!    She loves her training and is her happiest when she is with people or training to help people!  Mabel Joy brings smiles to senior heroes in nursing facilities, children facing very tough situations, patients battling illness, and those who just need some Mabel Joy snuggle therapy!  She lives to bring comfort and hope. Mabel received her therapy dog registration just over her 1 year mark.  She was definitely called to bring joy, and she fulfills her calling well!

Mabel Joy also has her very own stuffed plushie dog that is a hit with everyone!  It is already bringing comfort for many who have received this stuffed look alike of Mabel Joy.  She comes with her own Mabel Joy collar and bandana!  Maddie and Moose also have their own plushie.  To get yours, just visit Lisa Bain Ministries Shop Your purchase will also provide a stuffed Mabel dog for a child in need. 100% of shop proceeds go toward daily care boxes and bags delivered. Every stuffed Mabel dog is prayed over before heading for her new home!

We are thrilled to also have Mascot Mabel Joy join the team!  Our friends in Ontario, Canada created her, and a generous sponsor helped her come to life!  We love her and she is busy bringing smiles around town on therapy visits, events, and care package deliveries with Mabel Joy!

Maddie Grace and Moose join Mabel Joy in
her therapy dog adventures.  They are following in her footsteps and joining her as therapy dog ambassadors. They are half brother and half sister having the same amazing dad Quinton.  Moose is a big boy and at 7 month weighed almost 90 pounds.  He is as gentle as they come and we adore his sweet nature.  His favorite job is loving people and being by your side.  He was born to do what he loves best, spreading joy and comfort.

The three musketeers, Mabel, Maddie, and Moose, are quite the threesome and we are blessed to have them as our Lisa Bain Ministries therapy dog ambassadors.

Stay tuned to this page and have fun following their journey!

From a Mabel Dog Friend

I am an only child and my Mabel dog is
My best friend
She’s one to play with like there is no end
A travel buddy from place to place
There is no denying I love my Mabel dog
with this smile on my face
Mabel is one I tell all my secrets to
I know I can trust her with anything new
She is the best cuddle buddy at night
And one to hug when my day didn't go just right
I love the way she makes me feel
And at times I forget she isn't real
But to me my stuffed Mabel Joy dog
is a sister that I've never had
And is always there for me for the good and bad.

American Therapeutic Riding Center

It is an honor and joy to volunteer at The American Therapeutic Riding Center.  I have loved every minute of it!  Joy lives at ATRC and lives are changed. I love spreading the word about this amazing organization and would love for you to take a look at what they do!

ATRC provides therapeutic equine therapy for children and adults with cognitive/emotional/physical challenges. There is an emphasis on a positive, enjoyable, and relaxing experience with the horse that provides therapeutic benefits in the areas of socialization, posture, strength, mobility, and an overall quality of life. The ATRC team is family and they are truly one of the best teams I have ever worked with. I am grateful for what they do and the lives they touch!

We are excited for Mabel Joy to join in the fun with Morning Star the ATRC miniature horse.  Some fun things are in store and we can't wait to share soon!  It is always a joy for Mabel to visit the students and horses!  Maddie Grace can't wait to join in on the fun too!
