You don’t know me but I am the sister of a man you helped at the cancer treatment center.  He was receiving one of his last chemotherapy treatments.  You visited. He said he was very hateful to you when you made the visit, but after you blessed him with special gifts, even a gas card, and spent time listening and sharing stories with him, he felt as if he made a new friend. That doesn’t happen often with my brother.  He was very bitter and angry about his cancer, and was given only weeks to live when you saw him. Read More.

Lisa Bain Ministries sent me a Resilience Box today!!!! I am overwhelmed!!! The joy and spirit that came in that box is unbelievable! Every time I grabbed something out of the box, I said “oh my gosh, I’m gonna need that!” It is full of inspirational things, and chemo day items, and books to read, a handmade quilt (every tie is prayed over) a tote bag, a robe, seriously, it is so thought out! More things, just too many to mention! Even a crazy hair headband that lights up, pretty sure I will need that when I ring the bell after treatment! As I read up on the ministry, I know that I will be following and supporting in some way in the future! Thank you so much Lisa Bain Ministries!!! You are amazing!!!

How do I say thank you?  The journey of cancer has been filled with more unexpected than I can count. I was blindsided by those words “you have cancer”.  It has been a season of brutal unexpected events.  But the unexpected surprise of seeing a huge box waiting on my doorstep as we drove up from my chemo appointment was the best unexpected I have received.  I wiped tears as I took out each item.  What touched me the most is that everything in the box had a story.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the amazing "Resilience Box" that you sent to me!  Saying that I'm overwhelmed just doesn't even cover it! Your ministry and the volunteers in it are the true picture of being Jesus's disciples and being the conduits of God's love in the way that He commands. May God truly Bless you and all the hands and hearts involved in putting that box together. I can't wait to read your book!  The kintsugi necklace is especially treasured by me.  My favorite item is "Mabel Joy"!  I have a “Grand-dog" that is a Bernese Mountain dog. Thank you so much!

I recently was diagnosed with cancer. My family had no idea what was ahead. It has been such a tough journey filled with unexpected twists and turns.

Our hope and joy has faded with every one of those twists and turns. But tonight we received a Lisa Bain Ministries care package. Can I just say that this totally turned things around for us?!  Not only was it filled with items we needed, like money cards for gas and groceries, but a treasure trove for our children! There was something for everyone! Stuffed Mabel Joy  dogs, hand made quilts, toys galore and so much more.

We were ALL brought to tears as we opened this wonderful gift.  You care! You really care! That was so evident the second we opened the box. I hope God blesses each and every one of you. Please know that you truly gave us hope and joy tonight. That hasn’t been felt in a long time.  Thank you!

Written by a Mamma and her sweet daughter (pictured above) who received a stuffed Mabel Joy pup. We thought this poem was precious. She takes her Mabel pup everywhere.
“When you give an only child a stuffed animal
It turns into a best friend
One to play with like there is no end
A travel buddy from place to place
There is no denying I love my Mabel dog
with this smile on my face
I know I can trust her with anything new
She is the best cuddle buddy at night
And one to hug when my day didn't go just right
I love the way she makes me feel
And at times I forget she isn't real
But to me my stuffed Mabel Joy dog
is a sister that I've never had
And is always there for me for the good and bad”

How do we begin to say thank you?  As the wife of a veteran and also someone who has faced loss of a family member in the military, I can only say, thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Many times we feel forgotten, but you helped us realized we matter.  The money cards that helped us with prescriptions and home needs, the gas cards to take my husband to appointments, the toys for our children, the handmade military quilt, and all the gifts that were hand made and selected just for us, wow.  We hope you relay our appreciation to those who made this possible.  This family is grateful beyond what we can express and truly feel valued.  We have not felt that in awhile.  Thank you!

I’d like to thank Lisa Bain and Lisa Bain Ministries for the beautiful bag of goodies I received before I started chemo. Her ministry does wonderful things for people in my situation. I would have been totally unprepared for chemo if it had not been for this angel I have never met or may have never known if mot for this journey. She has been my angel in time of darkness.

What a blessing Lisa Bain Ministries is!  I came home from getting my port for upcoming Chemo and on my porch was a true blessing from God.  It was a care box full of things that I'm going to need.  It was a blessing to end a really tough day.   Isn't that just like God to send someone to make you feel better and encouraged. I can't even thank you enough for taking time out of your day to think of me. I pray God blesses your ministry with every need you may have.

I was blessed by a visit yesterday from Mabel Joy and Lisa. It touched me with Joy and connection from someone that cared about me. I have been fighting this cancer battle for 5 years and I have never been touched by love and compassion, as I did yesterday. She brought me tears with this connection. I have been struggling with depression and financial concerns, since my car is no longer running. I have a purpose left in this time God has given me, but can no longer be independent and I can no longer do my volunteering for several agencies. But Lisa and her team gave me some hope and clarity to know that I can fight this and be that happy person again and I can bless others! In prayer, thank you again for my Joy!

It has been a long and difficult journey.  Cancer does not play fair, and it has been a year filled with tough news.  Your visit today, showering us with gifts was literally shocking, in an amazing way!  It was like HOPE walked through the door, and we could breathe again.  The gifts in the care box helped in ways I can't even describe.  The gas and money cards were a God send, but what really touched my heart the most were the cards and letters from those who helped make some of the things in the care box.  I was overwhelmed to tears, and for the first time since my diagnosis felt like I had someone in my corner.  Thank you for being that someone Lisa Bain Ministries.  You will never know what this did for me.  God Bless You!

We want to tell you about one of your puppies. This particular puppy went to a little girl who just lost her daddy to cancer and her mom isn't doing well. We work along side this little girl's grandmother. She has requested to be kept anonymous but did give me permission to tell you. This little girl carries her puppy around everywhere. This puppy comforts her at night when mommy and daddy are no longer there to tuck her into bed.  You do amazing work. You are helping this little girl though what will be one of the worst times in her life.

Thank you for providing backpacks for our first responder vehicles.  Just this week we were able to calm two small children who were involved in a horrific incident.  The items in the backpacks were the only things that we had to calm these children.  Not only did they bring a sense of calm, but there were smiles.  In what was the most traumatic situation of their lives, they smiled.  The backpacks we had on hand made all of the difference.  Last we heard those stuffed dogs had not left their arms.  Please extend our appreciation to those who make these bags possible for first responders who need them desperately.  We are thankful for Lisa Bain Ministries.

Thank you Lisa Bain Ministries for the delivery of backpacks for our firetrucks this week.  We have had many calls recently where children were involved.  There were times these backpacks were the only thing that calmed their fears.  To say these backpacks are a game changer is an understatement.  We have personally seen a tragedy for a child end with a smile because we had a backpack filled with items to help the child.  These backpacks are making a difference and we hope they continue!  Thank you to all who support this ministry.
